The Peach Patch: Concerts and burgers with my brother

Welcome back to the Peach Patch newsletter! Check out my previous newsletters here!

My brother was in town last week and we were out and about having a blast so I decided to postpone writing the newsletter for a week! We had a lot of amazing meals, went to a concert and did a lot of shopping!

Best burger in NY?

Whenever family and friends come to visit I use it an excuse to try new restaurants on my bucket list. So when my brother was in town I took him to Au Cheval which is famous for it's burgers. It started in Chicago and opened a second location in NY a few years ago. It was such a cute restaurant and the food was really good.

I didn't get a lot of pics of the food but we ordered a chicken liver starter as well as a kale caesar salad for appetizers and they were both amazing. We also got a fried bologna sandwich to share and I wasn't personally a big fan of it. I thought the bologna tasted too gamey. But the main star of the show was the burger.

I honestly forgot to take a photo of the burger so this is the only one we have with the knife blocking it haha! Sometimes I get too hungry and forget about the content! It was a solid double cheese burger and I added the egg to it. The bun was super soft and the patties weren't too thick or thin, just right. The fries with a cheese sauce on top were really good too. (You can kind of see the bologna sandwich to the right).

Walking off the food coma!

After that massive lunch we walked all around the city and cut through Soho. This alley is right in front of the restaurant so of course we stopped for a quick photo shoot LOL. And contrary to what the movies show, New York actually doesn't have a lot of alley ways so this was a pretty unique spot.

It's such a joy to be able to spend time with my family and as life gets busier, moments like these are increasingly rare but increasingly meaningful. I'm so touched my brother decided to make the journey to come see me!

Of course we stopped a couple more times to take more photos in Soho before popping into any of the shops LOL.

I recently went to this store called Sporty and Rich (I know the name is ridiculous) for a facial but they also sell pretty cool vintage looking athletic casual wear and I'm a big fan of the style. I took my brother to show him around and we had a great time trying on different sets. Do you like this green? I'm obsessed with the color.

Besides shopping and eating we went to a concert for the band Grouplove in the Terminal 5 venue. I only knew a couple of the songs but my brother loves the band and it was an awesome show overall. It's been awhile since I've been to a concert and the energy is just electric. It's moments like this that make living in NY great and I really want to do more live performances!

We also went on a bunch of walks by the water, met up with some friends for good Chinese food and took Sophie to the park!

From Sophie and me, we hope you have a great week ahead and find the time to make a memory!
