Went to the ER but the week ended well

The Peach Patch: Family comes to visit!

This was a bad health week for me but it turned around at the end with family visiting the city!

A trip to the ER

I had a really bad migraine early in the week so I took a nap to try to get rid of it. But when I woke up my left eye was super blurry to the point I couldn't read anything. It also felt like someone was poking the top of my eye and that's not a normal symptom for my migraines. So I went to urgent care and they sent me straight to the ER where they ran a CT scan to confirm it wasn't a stroke. Luckily the doctors said the scan looked good and it was likely a new symptom of the migraines. I'll definitely set up a follow up appointment with neurologist to make sure everything is okay though!

I'm glad it all turned out okay but that was a scary and painful 7 hours in the ER. Luckily they gave me an IV with painkiller and fluids which definitely helped ease the pain. Take good care of your health Peaches!

Fun time when family visits!

My sister and her family came to the city for a couple days and we had a blast hanging out! We took the kids to the American Museum of Natural History where we saw all sorts of exhibits and animals. The kids loved the giant blue whale hanging from the ceiling where we all lay down underneath it and spent some time marveling at it's size!

I played I-Spy with my nephews at a bunch of these animal exhibits where we would take turns finding really small details like a hidden little turtle! I love them so much and it was such a joy to spend time bonding with them.

For those of you planning a trip, keep in mind the museum is huge! You don't have to get through the whole thing in one shot; I think we got through 20% of it before the kids got restless haha.

After we took this picture with the scary tiger the nephews and niece were getting pretty hungry and wanted some burgers. But it was pouring today so we didn't want to go too far. Luckily, a block from the museum there's a shake shack!

So we ran over to get burgers, fries, and shakes before hopping into an Uber to eat it all at home. I had such a blast connecting with all of them and it's a good reminder that family is so important! I definitely want to take more time to unplug and reconnect with all my siblings and their families.

Make sure you tell your loved ones how much you love them! I'm glad the week took a turn for the better and I hope your week gets off to a good start!
